When we greet each other we say “Namaste” in an acknowledgment by the soul of one person of the kindred soul in another; we are all one, and we share the same life force with all sentient beings. For this reason, we are conscious that all things that live and grow must breathe; each have need of food, sun, and rain, and we are mindful that the symbiotic relationships between Mother Earth (Matru Bhumi), Father Sky (Pitru Gaganam) and ourselves are inexorably linked. What we find in separation is only a longing to be whole again, so we feel the need to touch the earth and ground ourselves in the awareness of our relationship to the environment and to each other. This belief in the intangible becoming tangible once again has led us to endeavor to create a community where we can nurture, stimulate, educate, and inspire each other to transform the work we do in this world to be regenerative, self-sustaining and, at its heart, building a future where global health is accessible to all.
From a place of deep knowing at a very early age, young Sundara took his first step along the path in search of the source of all knowledge. This search lead him to the feet of many great teachers where he immersed himself in the ancient Vedic Sanskrit texts and traditions, which guided him towards his profound connection with classical Ayurvedic teachings. Realization dawned that beyond any doubt he would practice and share the timeless teachings of Ayurveda with many other seekers.
On graduating as a recipient of the prestigious Ayurvisharada gold medal, the highest accolade awarded to a student of Ayurveda in India, Dr. Sundara embarked upon his life’s journey spending all of his time treating patients at his community Ayurveda clinic.
As Dr. Sundara’s fame spread, people from all over the world arrived seeking treatment and guidance from him at his clinic in India, eventually inviting him to travel to their home countries to spread the teachings of Ayurveda.
After many years of traveling the globe, Dr. Sundara now practices and resides with his wife Dr. Pranavodgeetha and their two children Samanvita and Shivathmika at the Mountain Top Clinic India.

The term ‘Saamaa’ is an intrinsic part of Ayurveda, whose real meaning is S’anti – ‘peace’, ‘chant’ or ‘melody.’ It signifies the entire Samaveda-Samhita, or Veda of Holy Songs. Gandharva Veda is the essence of nature expressed through the vibrational resonant frequencies of music. According to the Vedas, playing and chanting this music neutralizes stress and promotes harmony, peace and balance in the life of the listener and in the environment.
Weekend evenings at our Ayurveda clinic are a visual delight of sound and colours, where talented local musicians and artists come to entertain and enchant. Share these evenings, which are devoted not just to culture, but also to giving you a chance to connect and share your experiences with your fellow guests.
Join us on a rejuvenating guided walk along the mountain tracks & trails around our Ayurveda center, where you can enjoy the beauty and tranquility of nature. You will have the opportunity to be introduced to the local flora & fauna of the mountains of India while clearing your mind of stress. The walk ends on returning to a ginger tea and time to reflect.
The weather at the MTC is always pleasant and enjoyable. In fact, the first hill stations in the area were created for visitors in the early nineteenth century due to their climate and location on the southernmost part of the Indian Peninsula, which were considered ideally suited for rest and recuperation from illness. The Nilgiris Mountains are akin to the European Alps in the many health benefits associated with their pure mountain environment. Because the altitude at the MTC, the mosquitoes associated with the lower planes of India will never affect you.
The MTC is situated some 1886 m above sea level in the state of Tamil Nadu, and experiences three distinct seasons: summer, winter and monsoon. The summer season starts from the month of March and lasts till May. Temperatures during this period can reach a high of 33 °C and a low of 22 °C. It is the most pleasant period of time to spend at the clinic and an ideal time to take in the picturesque grandeur of the region.
The coming of July marks the arrival of monsoon, with average temperatures of 15 °C to 22 °C. The MTC receives mild to medium rainfalls, which makes the climate humid. During this time there is an abundance of flora and fauna at the MTC, as we are surrounded by lush, green, picturesque scenery.
The monsoon then gives way to the winter months; December, January and February are the coldest months of the year. Temperature during this time lies somewhere between 10 °C to 20 °C and sometimes falling as low as 10 °C at night. It is an ideal time for those who are fond of cooler temperatures.
This is general guideline and like everything else with Mother Nature, sometimes she will do things unexpectedly. In summer we will get rain and in monsoon and winter it can be quite hot.
